Thursday Thirteen Ed. #61

1. Over the weekend, we had a new queen-size bed delivered to our home. My husband and I have slept on a king-size mattress for thirteen years.
2. I discovered a strange man in my bed Saturday night. He claims he has been there for a long time.
3. On Monday, I got a really bad sunburn on the back of my neck while visiting our local, pumpkin patch.
4. Even at fourteen and eleven, my girls are not too old to want to go to the pumpkin patch, it seems.
5. You can get lost in a pumpkin patch.
6. I’m the one on the left. Miss A. is on the right.
7. Miss A., who happens to be one of my best friends, is moving far, far away from me.
8. This makes me terribly sad.
9. When I was growing up, my family moved about every two years. As an adult, I have lived in the same town for fourteen years.
10. I can say from experience it is much easier for the person who is moving away than it is for the one who gets left behind.
11. I ate an Arby’s chicken salad wrap for dinner tonight.
12. I worked at Arby’s when I was in high school and college.
13. This is my first Thursday Thirteen. Somebody, please, say something.

Hello and welcome to the Thursday 13 crowd. I love the colours of your blog, browns and creams are my favourite! I moved a long way away from my family 6 years ago, from the UK to Holland and I’m happily settled. They missed me that much that they moved over here too hehe. The pumpkin patch sounds like fun!

At first I was thinking, “WHAT? Went from a King to a Queen?” And then I was laughing at #2. That is TOO FUNNY! I need to bring my boys to a pumpkin patch, too. That is always fun. My guys are still little, but I’m guessing they’ll love going for a long time, as well.

Wow that must be hard going from a king to a queen. We have a queen and I would love a king…especially since our 3 moth old is in bed with us now too.

I think it is funny that you should say that. We started out on a double bed when we were first married, but scraped together enough for a king mattress when our firstborn was about a year old. We had a “family bed”, too. Now that our youngest is eleven, though, we hardly need the space. We had an ocean of bed between us for several years. Believe me, the queen is much cozier!
1&2 cracked me up, but I have to strongly disagree with #10 — after moving 1700 miles 2 years ago, I have yet to even begin to replace the close and comfortable friendships I left behind.
