just discovered your blog with this week's TT, but thought i'd check out some of your other posts! i love this list. To Kill a Mockingbird and all of Chaim Potok's books are also favorite novels of mine! a couple others i'd recommend are Small Change: The Secret Life of Penny Burford and The Secret Life of Bees. i hope you'll post more about your reading!

Great list! I’ve recently discovered Brock & Bodie Thoene’s historical fiction, and have been immersed! I really liked Francine River’s “Redeeming Love”, but that’s the only one of hers I read. Thom’s “Follow the River” (another historical fiction, TRUE story about an AMAZING woman) rocked my world a few summers ago.

Some of those are some I want to read, too. I just finished Pride and Prejudice and want to read more of Jane Austen's books. Little Women is one of my all-time favorites. Others are the Anne of Green Gables series, A Tale of Two Cities and David Copperfield by Dickens, most anything by Terri Blackstock, a lot of Dee Henderson's books and many of Karen Kingsbury's. I also like to read biographies and missionary stories.

Great list! I am currently reading (among others) The Keeper of the Bees by Gene Stratton-Porter. I read a lot of fluff as a kid so I am trying to get to the good stuff as an adult. This is great so far.

DKRaymer – I actually read Fried Green Tomatoes a long time ago when I was pregnant with my now eleven-year-old. The book is great, but I was afraid it might upset the sensibilities of some of my readers. Shhh!! We’ll keep it our little secret.

Ooh, great list! My suggestion isn’t as lofty a title, but I’ve read the book 4 times. I love it. Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flagg. Much better than the movie! Happy TT and stop by my blog whenever you’re in the neighborhood.

Great list. I loved Little Women, and all of Lousia May Alcott’s books when I was in high school. Thanks for the reminder – I should read them again. And I loved the Chronicles of Narnia when I was younger. Great books.
For a suggestion, how about The Hobbit, or the Lord of the Rings trilogy?
