Well, yet another week of my life has gone by and I have tried to faithfully document it in photographs. I was hoping to post something of interest between last week’s photos and this week’s, but I have failed.
This week brought much snow and Valentine’s Day. Baby and I are enjoying the fact that she has been taking regular naps in the morning and afternoon. Since she is napping reliably, I have been able to enjoy reading some books. I thought I’d start out with some young adult fiction to get my brain out of its current fog and back into reading regularly. I quickly read through The Hunger Games trilogy over the past two weeks and truly enjoyed them. I then thought I’d read Madeleine L’Engle’s Time Quintet. Unfortunately, after reading A Wrinkle in Time, I did not feel inspired to read any more of the books in that set. The characters felt flat and were not engaging in the least. I know many people love these books, but I am afraid I am not one of them.
On Friday I started reading The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. I am almost done with the book and have found it far more engaging than A Wrinkle in Time. I am looking forward to reading the next two books in the trilogy.
I find it interesting that most series of books in young adult fiction would be considered one book if they were adult fiction. I would be terribly upset if I finished one without the others being currently in print.
Well, that is as exciting as it gets around here right now. Here are my photos from this week.
